Origins of Race

When we hear the term “race”, for many of us, our minds go to skin color.   We’ve been conditioned to think of “race” as perceivable characteristics which can determine a lot about us.  In this session, we learn about how all of this came to be - the biological evolution of skin color, the redefining of the term 'race', and its commoditization.  Learn more

Decolonizing the Mind

Colonialism is the “control by one power over a dependent area or people.”  It   

is the concept that guided the policies that brought us to where we are, leaving an indelible mark on the minds and hearts of people hundreds of years later even after legal decolonization.  In this session, we define 'Colonization of the Mind', 'White Supremacy Culture', and discover strategies to decolonize our personal and professional spaces. Internalized Racism

Hierarchical racially constructed categories (Asian, Black, Latino, White) impact how we see ourselves and others. This 'hierarchy' privileges and centers Whiteness over every other group and this requires that each of us navigate society vastly differently. In this session, we'll learn about Internalized Racism, Internalized Racial Superiority, Racial Oppression, and strategies for combatting all of them. Learn more

The Anti-Racist

How do our thoughts about our racial construct impact the actions we take? How do those thoughts and actions define us? In this session, we take time for awareness, reflection and determine how to take intentional action in our environments, specifically society and our workplace. Learn more

The Anti-Racist Society

Envision a society where equal opportunities and outcomes exist between equal groups. Where laws and policies improve the lives of everyone regardless of race. It may shock you, but societies like this exist and we’ll explore some of their policy constructs to see how they may fit with our conception of what an anti-racist society should be.  Learn more

The Anti-Racist Organization

What is an anti-racist organization? Is it possible for organizational stakeholders at every level to institute and advance anti-racist policies? In this session, we will learn strategies to create an anti-racist workplace where people of all racial constructs are included, valued, and have equitable access to the resources that ensure their success.
